Teaching Features

The Yamaha YPG-235 is an excellent keyboard piano for those learning to play the piano. This system comes with 30 built-in songs. It also contains a CD-ROM which contains 70 more which you can learn to play using the Yamaha Education Suite. The reason this keyboard is exceptional for learning is that the songs are separated into the right hand and left-hand parts. It offers seven levels of lessons, including a convenient chord directory. There are three keyboard lessons for each hand.

Waiting Mode: This function stops the playback of a song until you play the correct note. When you have done that, the song will continue.

Your Tempo Mode: This function allows you to learn the correct notes and learn to time as well. The tempo speed of the song will vary depending on the speed that you are playing. When you play the wrong notes, the song will slow down. This allows you to learn as fast or slow as you need to.

Minus One Mode: This mode allows you to play along while listening to the music. It helps you to perfect your technique.

Lesson Grading: This system will act as a teacher and actually give you a grade for each lesson as you practice. You can watch your grades get higher as you learn.

Repeat and Learn: This function will set the song back four measures when you make a mistake. Playback will begin after a one measure count. This will allow you to keep practicing the same section of the lesson until you have it perfect.

Chord Dictionary: This function shows you how to play the cords and it also shows you which chords that you are playing. The notes and the chords will be shown on the LCD screen.
